Sources: FBI investigating Kansas City, Missouri, day care for child sexual abuse
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An FBI investigation is underway after alleged child sexual abuse took place at a Kansas City day care.
On Friday, the 41 Action News investigators uncovered Canada Day Care was being investigated by the FBI.
Multiple sources have since told 41 Action News the investigation is in regard to a former employee who is accused of sexually abusing children.
It's unknown how many children could be involved.
However, sources said the former employee worked at more than one day care.
While police confirm there is a current FBI investigation into the day care, the owner of the day care told the 41 Action News investigators Tuesday, that her day care is not under FBI investigation.
The owner said she would have her attorney reach out to the 41 Action News investigators to answer all other questions.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the FBI are not commenting on the investigation.
Canada Day Care is located near East 57th Street and Prospect Avenue.
While further details about the investigation weren't immediately available, the 41 Action News investigators found Canada Day Care has a history of substantiated abuse and is often not compliant with state rules and regulations based off inspections.
